Dr Jennifer Coolidge

Dr Jennifer Coolidge is Executive Director of CMX and an internationally renowned expert on the gas sectors of Iraq and Turkmenistan. She was Senior Research Advisor at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, University of Oxford, from 2007-2009. Dr Coolidge is widely acknowledged as the foremost consultant and advisor on gas development in Turkmenistan – her expertise is unrivalled and stems from 17 years of work, initially in the technical sphere of mineralogy and petrology, including two years spent living in-country. In 2006-2007, Dr Coolidge was a Research Fellow at the Woodrow Wilson Center, a prominent think tank in Washington DC. In 2005-2006 she was International Policy Fellow in the Department of Politics, University of Oxford, and Rapporteur for the UK Taskforce on Energy Security and Foreign Policy chaired by former EU External Relations Commissioner and former Governor of Hong Kong, Lord Christopher Patten. Dr Coolidge has commentated on BBC World, and is regularly quoted by Bloomberg, the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, and the International Herald Tribune. She received a D.Phil. from the University of Oxford in 2002 and published "Turkmenistan: an exporter in transition" with Dr Stanislav Zhukov in Russian and CIS Gas Markets and their Impact on Europe, Oxford University Press, 2009.
