Catherine Yusupov |
Catherine Yusupov is Senior Analyst at CMX, and is responsible for the development of CMX's analytical products on Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and the Caspian Region. Her expertise on Russia, the Caucasus, and Central Asia is informed by years of on-the-ground experience. Prior to joining CMX in 2008, she was Project Associate at the RAND Corporation covering a broad research portfolio ranging from Russian domestic and foreign policy to counterinsurgency in Iraq. From 2002-2004, she worked at the Brookings Institution in Washington DC, where she focused on issues of Eurasian energy, post-socialist transition, nationalism, and democratisation. Ms Yusupov earned an M.A. from the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University, and graduated summa cum laude from Middlebury College, where she received a B.A. in International Studies. She co-authored Russian Foreign Policy: Sources and Implications, RAND Corporation Press, 2009.
